Author of Temporary Amnesia, Gelber was arrested in Texas for trying to hire a hit man to kill her estranged hubby, Joseph Gelber, Jr.
The Brazos County Sheriff's Office received a tip that Gelber was trying to reach a hit man.
An undercover investigator then posed as a hitman and met with Gelber. She was arrested and charged with solicitation to commit capital murder.
Friends believe that Joseph's infedelity caused Gelber's "transformation."
A friend stated that Gelber hasn't been the same since she found her husband cheating on her.
Nancy Gelber is beind held on bond for $75,000.
